Award Paper Submision Guidelines

From year 2017 a cash- award has been instituted in the memory of Late Dr. K.L. Narayanan, for the best paper presented at PSYCON by Post-Graduate & Mphil students of psychiatry and allied fields and recent postgraduates of psychiatry (passed DPM or MD not before 2023). From year 2023 the award money has been increased to Rs 7000/-

Award paper submission guidelines: Full papers (soft copy only – hard copy is not required), written in english, in the format prescribed for Original Research Papers in “Instructions to Authors” by the Indian Journal of Psychiatry, should be mailed to psycon2025@gmail.com with a subject of “SUBMISSION OF AWARD PAPER-TITLE” by 23rd July 2025 in order to be eligible for an award. 

The submission should indude – a) Soft copy of the full paper, b) IPS/IAPP membership certificate (or the screenshot of membership application), c) IPS/IAPP WBSB membership payment screenshot. The papers will be judged by the members of Award committee. The Five Best Papers will be selected for Award & required to be presented in Power Point format on 2nd August, 2025 (according to the schedule) at the venue of PSYCON 2025 (schedule will be intimated later). The papers which will not be selected as award paper can be presented as Free Paper 

Please note the following guideline for Award Paper Presentation: 

1. The presenter must make a PowerPoint presentation on 2nd August 2025 at the venue of PSYCON 2025. 

2. Time of presentation will be 7 minutes followed by 3 minutes Q&A 

3. Try to limit the presentation within 15 slides. 

4. The presentation should follow the IMRAD (Introduction, Aims & Objectives, Methodology, Result and Discussion) format. 

5. The paper shouldn’t have been published in digital/printed form in elsewhere before. 

6. If there is any ethical concern, plagiarism, duplicate / redundant publication, the judge’s decision will be final.

Award Poster Submission Guidelines

From the year 2023, a cash award of Rs 5000/- has been instituted in the memory of Late Dr. P. P. Roy for the best poster presented at PSYCON by Post-Graduate & Mphil students of psychiatry and allied fields and recent postgraduates of psychiatry (passed DPM or MD not before 2023). 

Award poster guidelines: There will be Award Poster Section. Poster size: 3ft(W) x 4ft(H). Please mail a soft copy of the poster to psycon2025@gmail.com with a subject of “SUBMISSION OF Award POSTER-TITLE” by 23rd July 2025 to be eligible for an award. 

The submission should indude – a) Soft copy of the POSTER, b) IPS/IAPP Membership Certificate (or the screenshot of membership application), c) IPS/TAPP WBSB Membership Payment screenshot. the posters will be judged by the members of Award committee. Five Best Posters will be selected for Award poster. The posters which will not be selected as award poster can be presented as Free Poster. The posters in above mentioned size are to be displayed at the venue of PSYCON 2025 on 3rd August 2025 at the venue of PSYCON 2025 (schedule will be intimated later).

The background of the poster should ideally be of lighter shade and words should be in darker shades. 5. 

6. Images and/or tables can be added in posters but those should be clearly readable. 

7. The presenter needs to be present in front of his/her poster at the scheduled time to face queries from the judges. 

8. The poster shouldn’t have been published in digital/printed form in elsewhere before. 

9. If there is any ethical concern, plagiarism, duplicate/redundant publication, the judge’s decision will be final.

FREE PAPER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
